Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grants
A Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) is a visit to a host organization located in a different country by a researcher or innovator to conduct a specific piece of work for a determined period of time. A STSM grantee receives funding for this work within an international team and gains new knowledge or access to equipment or techniques not available in the home institution.

Young Researcher and Innovator (YRI) conference grants
A Young Researcher and Innovator (YRI) conference grant supports a presentation of own work given by a Young Researcher and Innovator. The purpose is foster grantees’ participation in high-level conferences fully organized by a third party, i.e. not organized or co-organized by the COST Action. An YRI Conference Grantee receives support for attending and presenting their work (poster/oral presentation) at a conference.

Dissemination Conference grants (DCG)
A Dissemination Conference grant provides financial support to INDos participants for their participation in high-level conferences fully organised by a third party, to present INDoS, their activities, and results (oral presentation) and for developing new contacts and potential future collaborations. .

Inclusiveness Target Country (ITC) conference grants
An Inclusiveness Target Country (ITC) conference grant supports a presentation of own work given by a researcher/innovator affiliated in an Inclusiveness Target Country / Near Neighbour Country. The purpose is foster grantees’ participation in high-level conferences fully organized by a third party, i.e. not organized or co-organized by the COST Action. An ITC Conference Grantee receives support for attending and presenting their work (oral presentation) at a conference.

Who can apply for INDoS grants?
Applicants must be affiliated with an institution in a COST Full Member or Cooperating Member country. You do not need to be from the same country as your host institution. Membership of INDoS is free — join here.
Do I need to be a current INDoS member?
Yes. Join INDoS through e-COST before submitting a grant application. You should also check the specific eligibility in the detailled application instructions.
Can early career researchers apply?
Absolutely — INDoS prioritises Young Researchers & Innovators and ITC-based applicants for all grant schemes.
Where can I find host institutions for a STSM?
Contact the action chair or the workgroup coordinators who can bring you in contact with potential hosts across the network.
What happens after my conference or STSM visit?
A short scientific report is required within 30 days of completion. Payment is released upon approval of your report.
